Introduction
Martin Hatfield has been a practicing attorney in Kentucky since 1984. His experience as both an Assistant United States Attorney and Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney uniquely qualify him as an experienced legal adviser and advocate on behalf of individuals in the justice system, both criminal and civil. While Criminal Defense and Personal Injury are the legal fields in which Mr. Hatfield primarily focuses his practice, he also acts as General Counsel to the Ikerd Companies, a group of Kentucky Limited Liability Companies engaged in the mining, transportation, processing and sale of coal.
Mr. Hatfield is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and before the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Kentucky Justice Association.
Mr. Hatfield received his Associate of Science Degree from Somerset Community College ('78), his Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Kentucky University ('80), and his Juris Doctorate from Brandeis School of Law in Louisville, Kentucky ('84).
